Joint Commission Health Disparities Working Group

Background:  Effective January 1, 2023, new and revised requirements to reduce health care disparities were applied to organizations in Joint Commission’s ambulatory health care, behavioral health care and human services, critical access hospital, and hospital accreditation programs. John Dempsey Hospital (JDH) and UConn Health leadership stood up a multidisciplinary and interprofessional team of stakeholders. The team includes representatives from the following administrative areas: JDH, UConn Medical Group (UMG), Clinical Effectiveness, Population Health, Office for Inclusion and Civil Rights, and UConn Health Leaders (UCHL).
